Just a few weeks ago, the words ‘social distancing’, ‘self-isolating’ and ‘lockdown’ were infrequently used. Many of us didn’t even know that they existed, or what they meant! Fast forward to our current situation, and we find we’re having to adapt to this whole new way of talking. It’s not only our language that’s having to change – our way of lives, how we run our businesses and the way we interact has also had to rapidly adapt.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all of us in different ways, and we are now all becoming increasingly reliant on technology to keep us connected. Here at The Glasgow Mortgage Company, we may have had to close our offices, but we are very much open for business as usual and able to keep in contact with our clients – albeit working from home and keeping in touch with our clients by virtual means.

We know that for many, unprecedented financial struggles are having knock-on effects when it comes to paying the mortgage. Homeowners, landlords and tenants are finding themselves in previously uncharted territory, and it can be difficult to know how best to move forward. Despite lots of new guidance and legislation coming into effect, keeping up with everything is no mean feat. That’s where we come in. We will make sure that you choose the option that’s right for you and your circumstances. Whilst we currently have restrictions on face-to-face meetings, we’re able to offer meetings via technological platforms such as Skype and Zoom. This means we’re still able to offer the same trusted advice as we always have whilst adhering to the guidelines.

The pandemic has also highlighted how important protecting yourself and your loved ones can be. We’ve always been advocates of insurance and protection policies, but it seems that now many more are becoming aware of these benefits too. More of us are now thinking about how we can cope with these ‘what if’ situations and are looking for ways to make sure we remain as financially stable as we can be for the duration. Whilst we know that for many the ‘COVID-19 cloud’ has been both stressful and anxiety-provoking, we hope that one silver lining to come
